The organization remains focused on scaling efforts to reach more weavers and children, while maintaining its legal and financial commitments.


September 2024 – Scaling Programs and Expanding Support

  • Beginning of Direct Aid: The nonprofit began scaling its efforts, providing direct support to weavers, assisting with day-to-day challenges, and expanding the scholarship program to include more children.
  • Focus on Sustainable Growth: Trisha started developing strategies to ensure sustainable growth, focusing on building long-term relationships with manufacturers and local partners to create a lasting impact.


August 2024 – Finalization of the Two-Year Plan

  • Operational Plan for 2024-2026: In August, a comprehensive two-year plan was finalized to guide the nonprofit's efforts. This plan included goals for expanding the reach of the scholarship program, establishing new partnerships, and ensuring legal transparency in all fundraising and disbursement activities.


July 2024 – Operationalization and Volunteer Work

  • First Steps in Operations: By July, Impact Infinite began its first operations in India, working closely with schools and local partners. The first set of scholarships was planned for distribution, and weaver families were engaged with the nonprofit’s early-stage programs.
  • Volunteer Training: Trisha and her team started training volunteers to carry out Impact Infinite’s objectives in weaver communities.


June 2024 – Expanding Outreach and Fundraising

  • Community and Industry Networking: Trisha began engaging more industry experts and local partners, including rug sellers and manufacturers. These partnerships are intended to link local businesses with weavers, ensuring that support flows directly to those who need it.
  • Fundraising Strategy: A fundraising strategy was put in place to ensure that the nonprofit could continue to grow. Trisha started developing plans to reach potential donors and partners, including other businesses in the rug industry.


May 2024 – Starting Work on Scholarship Program

  • Initiation of Scholarship Planning: In May, Trisha initiated the design of a scholarship program aimed at helping the children of weavers. This involved reaching out to schools and developing criteria for awarding scholarships, with a focus on educational support for underprivileged students.
  • Budget Planning: Concurrently, she started working on a financial plan for the nonprofit, ensuring the sustainability of the program over the next two years.


April 2024 – Building the Team and Volunteer Outreach

  • Recruiting Volunteers in India: By April, Impact Infinite began recruiting volunteers in India. The initial focus was on identifying local individuals who could help facilitate the organization’s efforts, particularly in weaving communities.
  • Community Engagement: Early efforts were made to establish relationships with local schools and community leaders in India, laying the groundwork for future programs such as scholarships and direct support for weaver families.


March 2024 – IRS Registration and Legal Clearances

  • IRS Application: After establishing the company, Trisha applied for nonprofit status with the IRS, working on obtaining necessary clearances to ensure Impact Infinite would operate as a 501(c)(3) organization.
  • Filing Legal Documentation: During this time, Trisha gathered all necessary documentation, working diligently to ensure the legal status of the nonprofit was clear and transparent.


February 2024 – Company Formation and Registration

  • Formation of Impact Infinite: In February, the idea took a formal turn as Trisha officially registered Impact Infinite Inc. as a nonprofit corporation with the Georgia Secretary of State.
  • Drafting the Mission Statement: She crafted the nonprofit’s mission statement, focusing on supporting weavers and their families while emphasizing the importance of education for their children.


January 2024 – Planning and Initial Research

  • Initial Brainstorming: After solidifying her vision, Trisha began researching nonprofit organizations and the legal structures needed to support such an initiative. She sought advice from her family and professional connections on how to proceed.
  • Outreach for Guidance: Trisha consulted with her parent’s accountant and legal advisors on the proper way to organize a nonprofit, ensuring all legal and financial steps would be carefully followed.


December 2023 – Birth of the Idea

  • Conception of the Project: In December 2023, Trisha Mehrotra was inspired by her work in the oriental rug import business and her visit to India, where she personally observed the dedication and challenges faced by local weavers. This sparked the idea of creating an initiative to empower weavers and improve their livelihoods, especially their children’s education.
